Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

First of all,

Thank you for the comments and reading up my blog over the past few months (coming close to a year since I started this blog). It is the most wonderful time of the year and I am blessed to receive this Christmas present from my sister. She knows I am a leather lover so it wasn't difficult to let her decide to get this for me, I suppose.

It is a Zuny Elephant.

" Zuny is a design company that provides with simple, genial and innovative leather-made home accessories, inspired by the designer’s creativity and imagination. Zuny is meant to enrich your surroundings and provide a perfect gateway for releasing annoyances and pressures from work and frustration. Zuny’s goal is to "Make your life funny and easy".

Zuny places emphasis on designer’s tailored techniques and valuable ideas. Thus, instead of a mass manufacturing production, typical of today’s goods, they give special attention to each of the Zuny products with their own characteristics and hand-made processes."

Very nice piece of work. And the details on the leather is very nice!

Nice details

And while I was out for Christmas Lunch, saw this BIG Zuny Teddy Bear. And the price tag? SGD$1,000+++

That's all folks!

Wishing everyone A Happy New Year coming ahead and stay Healthy, stay Wealthy.

Red Wing Beckman with change of laces

Well the original laces was the best looking. But I did not take good care of it and had to get replacement laces. Couldn't find the flat type so got a round laces from the local Red Wing store instead.

Cleaning + Oiling + Evolution of Red Wing Gentleman Traveler 9013 (Beckman) Chestnut

thats quite a mouthful for a title. Anyway, its been sometime since I showed pics of my RW Beckman 9013. And its way too dirty after so many months of wearing without any proper cleaning.

Again on a sunny Sunday morning, I used the Obenauf's Leather Cleaner to do some cleaning first.

Dirty boots with stubborn black stains

As you can see, the transition from a dirty pair of boots to a not-so dirty pair of boots. (common, its a boots, not a dress shoe! :p)

As you can see, the tough stains got a lot lighter! I'm really glad its able to be removed using the leather cleaner. I wasn't really expecting a miracle but this is pretty good result as well!

Getting the Obenauf's LP ready. Put the boots and the LP under the sun to warm them up a little. Oh, and do remember to wait for the leather cleaner to dry up first before applying the LP. :)

Damn! I just love the Beckman Chestnut color.

Let 'em soaked up the LP under the warm sun.

Clarks Desert boots : Cleaning and Oiling (Part 2)

Here's how it looks like when it appears completely dry. The hot sun in Singapore is, well, Hot!

See the scar that I was talking about in my previous post? It does appear to have lighten quite a bit. But not that Im whining cos this is the boots that I thrash them everyday! Such minor scar doesn't bother me.

Clarks Desert boots : Cleaning and Oiling (Part 1)

What a bright sunny Sunday morning and after a cuppa of nice Espresso, I went ahead to clean my Clarks DBs.

(pssst, just realised that if I use the Blogger app to blog, I can't have the text and picture arranged in a layout that I want. So all pictures will appear together after the chunk of text. )

Stripped them off the laces and used the Obenauf's Leather Cleaner to give them a wipe. The warm sun dried up the cleaner in no time and I proceeded to use the Leather Oil on it.

Notice the darkening of color? I am now letting them dry up first to see if the darkening still remains. One of the picture you will see the comparison of before and after Oiling. That was taken immediately after oiling, so the darkening looks very heavy but we shall see when it gets settled down in a bit.

Here are the pictures:

Oh, and I accidentally scratched the boots while cleaning. Took a close up shot on it. Let's see if the leather oil will lighten the "scar"

Do check out my following post!

Wearing my Clarks DB loosely

I admit. I have this bad habit of wearing my Clarks DB loosely so I can slip in and out easier, without loosening/tightening the shoelaces.

But I think its not good for the leather shoe. Oh well. :(

Leather Passport Holder from Labrador

Hello everyone, finally got the time to breathe and do some blogging after a short breather at work.

Well for today, I've decided to do some writing and photo-taking on my passport holder. I actually bought this several months back but it sort of slipped off my mind that I had this leather goods despite I'm always holding on to it when I'm traveling.

It's a leather cover from the Labrador Factory. They are leather-makers from Thailand.

Here are some pictures of it:

What I like about this cover, and I believe all passport covers should have, is this additional slot to either hold a card or some tickets that you don't want to put them in your pocket yet.

I like the supple color that is slowly gaining character. It came smooth, but after I went on several trips with this together with my keys and such, the pockmarks are clearly seen there. Not that its ugly though, I just love it!

Busy lately

To all my dear readers, I apologize for not updating lately as I was extremely busy with work.

I promise to update my leather goods with more pictures once I'm done with this current project. It will be an interesting update as the recent workload had put my boots to more stress and scuffs.

Do stay tuned!

Cheerios~

Swedish Army Belt: After 4 months

More pictures, less words.

DIY Project: External Harddisk Case

Recently, I bought a MacBook Pro to replace my dying desktop and also wanted to give it a shot at the widely acclaimed Mac OSX. It is really excellent and not difficult to get used to, coming from a PC user for the past few decades. The thing I like about Max OSX is the Time Machine. It keeps track of your activities and data changes so that in the event you wanted to "go back in time" to either retrieve some accidentally deleted data or, just for the fun of it, you can just go to the Time Machine and "travel back in time!"

Hang on a sec, I'm not doing a tech blog, I'm doing a leather blog! Well for this project, I decided to make a case (not a drop-proof, shock-proof case) to house my newly acquired Western Digital Elements 1TB External Hard disk. It comes in a default black color so I though why not do a white leather case for it.

And here goes, the final outcome:

Lots of practice to go!

Till then~

New Bracelet from Etsy

Hi everyone.

If you read my previous post, you will know that one of my bracelet had broke and I had sourced another bracelet from etsy.com. I found this seller, kelugi, and am impressed with the collection of hand-made bracelets. The style is mainly leather + silverware, just the kind I like.

I am particularly interested in this

I had placed my order and gave details on my wrist measurements. Patiently waited for 2 weeks and a couple of days and finally received them in my mailbox!

Here are the pictures I just took in the crappy lighting in my room and the cranky AWB on my camera. that I finally found time to take in a natural daylight condition.

One thing I'm looking forward from this bracelet is how the clasp will be strong enough and not corrode off like my previous one (yes, it corrodes off from my sweat)

Do stay tuned to see more updates on how this bracelet will evolve to become. Cheers~

Leather Bracelet from ETSY - Update

Just 2+months ago, I bought this bracelet from ETSY and wore it almost everyday for work and play. They are very easy to wear, thanks to its magnetic clasp design. However, it broke off one fine day.

Although it will be fairly easy to fix, I decided to retire it and source for the next bracelet. I am those bracelet guys and recently without this bracelet to wear, my right wrist feels "naked". I do still have the H&M bracelets but its rather difficult to match them with my clothes as they are the double (or triple) wrapped design.

Anyway, here's the pictures of my retired bracelet from etsy. So long.

As for the next bracelet, it will also be from etsy. I had ordered it last week and really hoping to receive it by this week, from Spain to Singapore. Do stay tuned!

Red Wing GT 9013 Beckman : Update

As promised in previous post, here are some more pics of the RW GT 9013 Chestnut color. The color is even more amazing under a bright sun. Lots of scuffs and stains but I just love it!

This is the part of the boot that I like most. The wrinkles.
