Levi's 501 Jeans & Belt

Saw a great offer on levi.com that all items were on 40% sale!

Initially, I thought why not just browse the items and add into cart.

Chose a 501 Original Fit Jeans - Rinse. Added into cart. When I saw the price after discount I almost fell off my chair. It only costs USD$28.80!!!!!! My goodness, the same pair could had easily costs more than SGD$100 in Singapore!

As I further shopped for more great bargains, decided to get a belt too and got the Leather Belt - Tan, for USD$22.80.

Here are the pictures of my hoot!

 Jeans & Belt

Levi's signature logo

A little disappointed to see the "Made in China" though :/

Stitching was alright.

Leather looks thick, but feels very soft

The Leather belt felt soft and definitely not full grain leather. Well, I have to say I expect a little more from Levi's and from the price I pay. I could easily get a much better quality and unbranded belt from the local leather artisans here.

Jeans-wise, no complaints and definitely good stuff, as you'd expect from Levi's. I got the Raw jeans last year from Levi's website too. Was disappointed to see there's no selvedge (self-edge) so I decided to get something different this year.

Next, while waiting for my Timberland boots to arrive, maybe I'd put some LP on the belt.

Black Friday hoot!

Hoot - Singlish term; referring to damage done to a person or an object. In this case, its damage done to my wallet :(

Didn't buy much leather goods this Black friday 2013. Just got my DHL parcel containing my Levi's jeans and belt. Can't wait to go home and show you guys the picture. At 40% off, I really don't have much to ask for. But if its really as awesome as the pics are, its a bonus!

Next shipment will have a Timberland boots that I hoot! Stay tuned!

Corter Summer Grab Bags finally arrived!

I was patiently waiting for the package to reach my letterbox. And the tracking number they provide will not update once it left the US soil. Eventually it took 1 week plus to reach my letterbox after Corter sent the email with the tracking number.

I ordered 1x Premium Bag and 1x Accessories Bag. Actually, I was having the impression that the items that we will be getting is ALL of the listed names there. What a fool I am! It's EITHER ONE.

Was a little disappointed as I didn't get what I wanted (I was hoping for a Passport cover or a full-bifold wallet)

Ok here is what I got:

 Left: Premium Grab Bag
Right: Accessories Bag

The one (and only) leather item was this cardholder:

It was alright. Not the best that I've seen. Furthermore, to add to the disappointment, there wasn't any Corter Stamp or initial on them. Not that it would make any difference but at least with the stamp, it won't look like a random DIY project that I would have done it myself.

Next are the bottlehooks:

Left: (Limited Edition) Forest Camo
Right: Black
And followed by, Signature Split Rings (lots of them):

Got 4 Pewter ones and 2 Copper ones

To be honest, these are not what I expected to get, having spent like USD$54. There was a huge disappointment when I opened it up. I couldn't see anything useful in the items that I got. To make myself feels better, I used the bottlehook and the split ring for this purpose:

Car Key Holder

Will be hooking the bottlehook to my jeans belt loop, with the car key tucked into the jeans coin pocket.

National Publicity

This will be, I guess, my first post on a non-leather related object.

Just acquired a laptop for work recently. A Dell XPS 12. Needed a Windows OS machine for various reasons. My home preferred machine still a MacBook Pro. :) Yeah, call me an Apple Fanboy. I just prefer OSX.

So I went to search for a proper bag that I can carry my laptop to work in style. I remembered seeing a bag called "National Publicity". And VOILA! Saw the one design that caught my attention in the first place.

Its PASADENA BLACK TOTE BAG!

And so I patiently waited for the shipping. Surprisingly, its quite fast! From the day I ordered to the day I got it, its about 4 working days. Not bad considering its from S.Korea to Singapore!

Today the postman came with this.

From the all-familiar GANGNAM!

Unboxing:

Some stickers that came with it, I just love it!

Inside the bag:

may god bless you

Initial impression: Feels very sturdy and nicely padded. Just nice for my laptop. Could be enough space for my Kor and Nalgene water bottles too. Can't wait to use it tomorrow morning!

I am almost clicking on the tracking number every 2 seconds (I'm just kidding, maybe 2.5 seconds)

Stay tuned if you want to find out what did I got from the Premium Grab Bag and Accessories Bag.

Combat Boots

Well, I am back to my ICT again. My boots was in a horrendous state. Need a serving of LP to make sure it will last me few more years. Really love this pair of boots as it went through thick and thin with me, and its so comfy (not exactly Timberland comfy) as compared to the newer generation.

Red Wing 9013

This too, taken a day after Obenauf's Leather Oil had been applied. I'm surprised to find that the oil gets absorbed fully in less than a day. Last time it took more than a day to have the oil fully absorbed. Guess its really drying up with use and the weather took a beating on it.

DIY Cardholder

My all-time fav cardholder... This is taken 1 day after applying LP. The leather looks much revived. There's a slight matt finish though, but I bet it will be shiny again in a few days time upon usage.

Update for DIY Card Holder, Red Wing 9013 Beckman & Timberland Earthkeepers

Hi Everybody!
Sorry for not updating so frequently lately, been tied up with work and lots of new things going on in life. So yeah, lesser time for blogging. But fret not! I will still do my usual postings of aging leather and stuff, just that it may not be so frequent and my response to your comments (if any) may be a little slow. So do bear with me!

Here's whats coming up:

My DIY cardholder:

Been sometime since I carried it and recently met up with a leather artisan and he saw my cardholder, he was pretty amazed at how it aged and looked. Since I got some free time on hand today, so I went to clean it with Obenauf's Leather Cleaner and follow up with the Heavy Duty LP.

Next up,

Red Wing 9013:

My all time favourite shoes. Took lots of thrashing and beating but still look amazing! Sprayed generously with the cleaner and scrubbed it clean with a clean piece of foam.

And finally,

Timberland Earthkeepers:

To be honest, this pair of boots had almost became my daily beaters. Reason? Its lighter and easier to wear. When I need to visit places that requires me to take off my shoes, this slips off like any canvas shoes, heck, it even weighs like a pair of canvas shoes. Its soft and comfortable. And I am pretty surprised at the leather quality. Initially I thought it will show tears and scuffs in no time, but having wearing it almost everyday now, it still looks well-maintained!! Looks like some Obenauf's Leather Oil is a good treat for it!

Shall leave it to dry and perhaps tomorrow it will all be ready for a shoe-brushing session!

Emil Erwin Labor Tote Bag

This tote bag is so good looking, I will carry it to just walk from my home to the office just for the sake of holding it.

DAMN! I can even smell the leather from my computer screen..

This ... is... sooooo... AWESOME LOOKING!!!

Shortening a belt

Ok, I bought the belt from London as mentioned earlier. Supposedly to give to my dad as a gift but I bought another for him eventually which is from Massimo Dutti.

And since I got the basic tools, I can cut and finish (or burnish) the edges myself. :)

Point to note: As my belt was without any hole punches (I requested that from the seller), I have to trial and error the length that I want and cut it myself. A mistake I made was to punch the holes before I cut the length, which resulted in a few trials and errors. I wanted to get only 3 holes to have the simple look. But upon the first 3 holes made, I realised it was still too long for me and had to go a few holes inner to get it right. So take note guys, double confirm the length before you cut or punch the holes!

Getting the tools ready!

Burnishing the edges after cutting it

Can you tell which is the original finished cut and which is mine?

Here is the answer! :)
