Saw this good looking bracelet when I was shopping in H&M and with the price of HKD$29.90 a piece, I can't help to grab 1 brown and 1 black. They are simple bracelets and Made in China. Can't expect much with that price eh? They are easy to wear but for the first few times I wore it, I can't seem to "wrap" it nicely around my wrist.
And suddenly, I thought of what I learnt back in scouting days.
Clove hitch.
BINGO!
I just wrap them around my wrist like how we used to tie the clove hitch and it will look nicely wrapped around the wrist without much mess.
Love it!

Red Wing GT 9013 to Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai,China
Hi readers! It's been a while since I updated my blog cos I was away on a trip to Hong Kong, the shopping paradise!
Yes, it indeed is a shopping haven and I returned home a poorer man. :(
I shall not discuss about my awesome purchases in HK as not all of them are leather goods, so it is not related to my blog. For more details, you can refer to my post in this forum.
Anyway, here are some pics of my Red Wing Gentleman Traveler 9013 with my trip.

Took this in the Ibis Hotel room. Great harbour view but insanely tiny room with uber-hard mattress.
While in the ferry to Macau
On top of the Macau tower. Awesome view!
Can't really see the details on my boots but I like the selvedge line with the boots.
If you haven't notice, the laces were not the original ones. I changed it to the Obenauf's laces prior to my trip as I thought it will be more suitable ( I was expecting typhoon and hot sun and heavy rain). But they were difficult to take off and I think I will revert back to the original laces for my daily usage.

Clarks Desert Boots + Leather Laces!
As per requested from a reader, Gary, in my previous post;
Here are some pics of the light brown leather lace with Clarks Desert Boots. First I have to apologise for the poor lighting in my room, will definitely post a picture of some fit pics during day time for better viewing.
Here goes:

Here goes:
Bottom Left was without Flash
The rest are with Flash
The light brown simply goes with the Beeswax Desert boots perfectly. It's so perfect that I can't help but wonder why didn't they use this as a default laces in the first place.
Coincidentally, Valetmag also have an article about Desert Boots today.
From the article, did you find that now the Clarks DB I have with the leather laces looks like the one from SeaVees? It's purely coincidental!

Leather Laces
Bought a few leather laces from a forumer here (thanks goat!) and they look absolutely amazing. I especially adore the lighter brown one and am currently matching it with my Clarks DB. Initially wanted to use the darker brown ones for my RW and upon trying out 1 lace on the boot, it was very difficult to tighten and loosen. That is a big issue for me as I often need to take in and out of my boots in my course of work.
So now only 1 of the 2 lighter brown is used, cos the DB's laces is short and 1 of this lace can be cut into half which is just nice for the pair of Desert Boots.
Rubbed a coating of Obenauf's LP on them and they are now rocking on my DBs!
Will post the fit pic of the DBs + leather laces in due course but here's a pic of just the laces only:

Leather Bracelet
I am a follower of the site Valetmag.com and weeks ago, I saw this article about bracelets for men. I regularly wear a bracelet, be it at work or at play. My previous bracelet among my EDC was the Corter For Japan bracelet. The leather quality is top-notch. But when I saw this article, I was attracted to the braided leather cord bracelet. So I went ahead and bought one from the Etsy seller, Bracelet Market.
The price was reasonable and the seller was very friendly also.
When I got the bracelet (took about a week for it to reach Singapore), the first thing that caught my attention was the magnetic buckle. It was cleverly done in such a way that it is held together by magnet AND locking mechanism. Genius method. Maybe I wasn't too updated in the world of bracelet buckle but this one is nicely done that does not add bulk and give it a more sophisticated look.
here's what it looks like when I first gotten it:
A nice gentle yellowish glow from this amazing leather bracelet. At first I thought the bracelet was completely made of the braided leather. But I think the leather is wrapping a thick nylon cord inside that gives this bracelet the form and strength. It is perfectly ok if you ask me.
Here's what it looks like, after in merely 2 weeks!
I had coated this with 2 coats of Obenauf's Leather Oil prior to wearing. Because I sweat a lot during work and I want the leather to be protected from my sweat so I suppose the leather oil will be a layer of protection on it. But just look at it! 2 weeks since wearing and it had evolved to such nice brownish glow.
Amazing.
A snapshot with the before and after for better comparison:
Love this bracelet. Do visit the Etsy seller for more of such bracelets!

OGL Card holder (part 2)
10 months had passed since I bought this card holder.
Let me show you the pictures to see how it evolves from a Snow White to Pocahontas.
New:
Now:
The evolution over 10 months is just amazing. The burnish edges seem to have turn black! The grains on the leather, wow. And just look at the stitching, still looks fresh and new despite the leather evolution.
Sad to say, I have to retire this card holder to make way for the card holder that I made myself that I posted earlier.
This is a tough decision but given the 2 card holders, the DIY one has more "feelings" since it came from my own pair of hands.
So here, a tribute to the cardholder that served me well for 10 months. I won't discard it away. I will keep it and let it age slowly, without the harsh way that I treated my stuff. Adios.
